Noisem Blossoming Decay
Noisem Blossoming Decay

(A389)
On their sophomore LP, this Baltimore quintet sounds well beyond their young ages, expertly blasting their crossover blend of thrash metal, grindcore and punk (or as they succinctly describe their genre on Facebook, “loud fast stuff.”) With a sound comparable to Slayer or Terrorizer, they let their fury fly with machine-gun speed and great technical prowess for the solos, complete with lyrics about struggling through various problems in life.

Kendl Winter and The Summer Gold It Can Be Done!
Kendl Winter and The Summer Gold It Can Be Done

(K)
Now based in Olympia, Washington, Kendl Winter clearly shows her Arkansas roots with this sunny album of nostalgic and optimistic banjo-driven songs. Her Americana and bluegrass influences shine through with her skillful playing and spirited voice, whether it’s a cozy tribute to simple nostalgia (“Rocking Chair”) or exploring one’s thoughts during a daydreaming experience (“Dreaming of Babylon”).
