Ian McLagan & the Bump Band
United States
Ian McLagan & the Bump Band United States(Yep Roc)
Active since the 1960s and best known as a keyboardist for the English bands Small Faces and Faces (as well as studio work for acts such as the Rolling Stones,) Ian McLagan was also a talented multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, with this being his final record (he passed away at the end of 2014.) As the title suggests, this album’s sound encompasses Americana, with love-and-relationship-minded tunes brought together with guitars, piano and organ (it’s no surprise that he draws from many influences, considering he provided keyboards for everyone from Bob Dylan to Bruce Springsteen at some point.)
