Here’s an Australian indie-folk duo (currently based in Brooklyn) whose soft and delicate sound comes together beautifully on this sophomore album. Songwriters and vocalists-guitarists Zoë Randell and Steve Hassett (who also played several other instruments) feature numerous guest musicians as well, with the result sounding peaceful and intimate as it’s primarily driven by acoustic guitar, piano and Randell’s calming voice. Lyrical themes include love, nostalgia and reflecting with nature: for example, the title track includes Randell’s memories of caring for animals as a girl, and “Gold on the Leaves” involves yearning for a lost someone in the sun and breeze.
