Zeke
Hellbender
(Relapse)
This Seattle-based hardcore punk / heavy metal band has been around since 1992 (I first heard them in 2002, when their shockingly epic song “Death Alley” was featured in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4.) Hellbender is Zeke’s first full-length album since 2004’s ‘Til The Livin’ End, and they successfully demonstrate that their absolutely blistering and shredding brand of rock and roll (comparable to Motörhead’s badass nature) hasn’t skipped a beat. Blind Marky Felchtone’s vocals and guitar haven’t lost any of their gritty edge even after over two decades, still guiding the kind of music that makes you want to speed down the highway with zero inhibitions.
