Welcome back to Manic Presents’ weekly Redscroll Blog.  We’re here to give you the latest on new show announcements and upcoming events for the week.

As Halloween approaches, the amount of shows we have this week is a little… spooky. By that, we mean there’s a lot and you should attend them! Tonight (10/24), everyone’s favorite TV dad – Bob Saget is bringing laughs to College Street Music Hall! Meanwhile, Vacationer ~ Wavelengths (Kenny Vasoli of The Starting Line) will be at Space Ballroom being joined by DJ St. Thomas. The Space Ballroom tomorrow night (10/25) is going to be loud, so make sure to bring your earplugs for Fit For An Autopsy, Rivers of Nihil, Lorna Shore, and Dyscarnate. On Saturday (10/26), come hear the music of Billy Joel performed by his band: Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot who are being joined by Alex Shillo at College Street Music Hall! If you’re not a fan of Billy Joel, but you dig indie pop, the Space Ballroom is hosting of Montreal and Locate S,1 that same evening, and there are few tickets left! As a part of our Manic Mondays series, Korean pop singer Katie Kim is coming to Cafe Nine next Monday (10/28) with Brooklyn-based band Little Silver and international band Frogbelly and Symphony. Tuesday night (10/29), another indie pop show is taking over Space Ballroom, Yoke Lore and Future Generations! Last but not least on this week’s calendar, Katie Toupin, formerly of Houndmouth, will be playing in the Space Ballroom Front Room with Grayson Foster next Wednesday, (10/30). Tickets to all of these shows are still available, so grab them on our website now before you can’t anymore!

We’ve announced a ton of shows this week, so hold onto your hats and get excited! First up to bat is an awesome show happening at College Street Music Hall in less than a month: iconic and inspirational pop rock artist Liz Phair on Saturday (11/16)! A few weeks later on Wednesday (12/4), comedian and Tony-nominated actor Stephen Lynch will be bringing laughs to Space Ballroom. The following week, queer punk band GRLwood will be returning to Space Ballroom on December’s Friday the 13th. After hibernating for New Years, we will be back up and running with alternative country artist Rhett Miller (of Old 97’s) at Space Ballroom on Thursday (1/16). GRLwood and Rhett Miller tickets will be on sale tomorrow (10/25) at 10AM on our website! On the internationally recognized official holiday, (3/11), comedian Kyle Kinane is coming to celebrate with us in Hamden at Space Ballroom! Just announced yesterday, political punk band Anti-Flag will be bringing their activist music to Space Ballroom exactly a week after Kyle Kinane, on Wednesday, (3/18). Tickets for Anti-Flag are on sale Friday (10/25) at 10AM on our website! Finishing off this week’s announcements is the Grammy-nominated Swedish electronic band, Little Dragon, who’s playing at College Street Music Hall on Tuesday, (4/21). Tickets for all other shows are available NOW on our website!

Welcome back to Manic Presents’ weekly Redscroll Blog, your hub for information about upcoming shows in the New Haven area! First up on the docket are our newly announced events: hardcore band Death Threat will be coming to Space Ballroom in Hamden on Friday, (11/8), touring for the 20th anniversary of their album ‘Last Dayz,’ with the original lineup of the band. Joining them will be Billy Club Sandwich, World Demise, Carried By Six, and Nightmare Solution. We are more than excited to announce that iconic alt-rock band Pixies will be bringing Kristin Hersh to College Street Music Hall in New Haven on Tuesday, (12/10)! Tickets for this will be on sale Friday (10/18) at 10AM on our website! That same week, pioneers of the Sunset Strip hardcore sound, RATT, will be tearing up the College Street Music Hall stage on Saturday, (12/14). Announced as a part of our Manic Mondays series at Cafe Nine in New Haven on Monday, (12/23) will be Northampton rockers, Sun Parade. Next Spring, celebrated 70s and 80s tribute band, Yacht Rock Revue will bring nostalgic soft rock to Wall Street Theater in Norwalk on Thursday, (3/26). That same evening, classically trained string instrumentalists and hip-hop duo, Black Violin, will be mesmerizing the crowd at College Street Music Hall in New Haven! All tickets for these events can be found on the Manic Presents website!

 This week’s schedule is stacked, with at least one show almost every day! Tomorrow (10/18), metal band In This Moment is bringing their Mother’s House of Horror tour to College Street Music Hall with New Years Day, Ded, and Little Miss Nasty. Meanwhile, Turkish folk band Altın Gün will be taking the stage at Space Ballroom with Connecticut local Snake Oil. On Saturday (10/19), six sister cover group, Cimorelli is playing a matinee show at Space Ballroom and later that evening, electronic music duo, Thievery Corporation, will be coming to College Street Music Hall with special guest BoomBox! Sunday night (10/20), hailing all the way from Denmark, is synth pop duo Lust For Youth who are being joined by Connecticut locals Psychic of Orange, Underwear, and Ross Menze (DJ). Monday (10/21), vocalist of the band I Am The Avalanche and now defunct The Movielife, Vinnie Caruana is playing an intimate acoustic show with locals Tier and Jared Knapik at Cafe Nine for our Manic Mondays series! Last but not least, next Wednesday (10/23), indie rock band The Districts return to Space Ballroom with local rockers waveform*. Tickets for all shows this week can be found on our website! Welcome back to this week’s edition of the Manic Presents Redscroll Blog, where we update you with newly announced shows and upcoming events for the week! Just announced this week, the heart-felt soul-pop group Scruffy Pearls will be playing next month at Cafe Nine for our Manic Monday series on Monday, (11/11)! Also a part of our Manic Mondays, we are bringing pop duo Thunder Jackson to Cafe Nine on Monday, (12/9) and psych-rock/pop band Sun Parade return to Cafe Nine on Monday, (12/23). The last event we announced this week is the genre-defying funk band Lettuce, who will be taking the stage at College Street Music Hall on Saturday, (2/1). Tickets for these shows are all available through our website!

 This weekend is busy once again for Space Ballroomtonight (10/10) we have legendary Minutemen and fIREHOSE bassist, Mike Watt + the missingmen along with 90s psych-rock band Sunburned Hand of the Man bringing the true DIY spirit of punk rock to Hamden. Tomorrow night, (10/11) we are bringing another psychedelic rock band to Space Ballroom Earthless. Mostly instrumental, the band hails from San Diego and are bringing the solo project of Linnéa Olsson, Maggot Heart, and another psych rock act, Sacri Monti. Saturday, (10/12). This week’s Manic Monday (10/14) at Cafe Nine features Maine rock band Weakened Friends with Atlanta, GA emo band Blis. and Connecticut local, Straight 2 VHS! The rest of the week you can use to rest up in order to come right back next weekend for more exciting events we will tell you about in the next Manic Presents Redscroll Blog! Glad to see you back for this week’s edition of the Manic Presents Redscroll Blog! We’re here to tell you about newly announced events and this week’s shows! Space Ballroom is welcoming WWE Hall of Famer, Jake “The Snake” Roberts to Hamden to tell comedy-filled stories from being on the road as a world-famous wrestler on Wednesday, (11/6). Next year, the popular 80s British punk band, The Adicts, will be taking the Ballroom stage on Friday, (1/17). Over in New Haven, College Street Music Hall is hosting rock singer-songwriter Grace Potter on Tuesday, (1/28) and the legendary classic rock band Kansas, who will be playing their popular album, “The Point of Know Return” in its entirety later next year on Saturday, (5/9). Tickets for The Adicts, Grace Potter, and Kansas will be on sale at 10AM this Friday, September 27, and tickets for Jake “The Snake” Roberts are on sale now! For those of you looking for something fun to do this weekend, we have the solution! Tonight (9/26) at College Street Music Hall, popular storytelling podcast, The Moth, is touring through New Haven with their live event, The Moth Mainstage – where you can hear five people tell entertaining and enlightening stories. Make sure to get your tickets for this quick, as there are a limited number left! If storytelling is not your jam, Americana singer-songwriter Justin Townes Earle will be playing with rock musician Jesse Malin over at Space Ballroom this evening (9/26). Now this Friday, we have something for everybody! The long awaited Something Great From ‘68 Tour with Brian Wilson and The Zombies is finally coming to Palace Theater in Waterbury tomorrow night (9/27)! Tickets for this are still available, and if you’re a Beach Boys fan, you won’t want to miss this event! For those who don’t want to leave the New Haven area tomorrow (9/27), we have options for you too — world-music group, Nahko And Medicine For The People and folk artist Ayla Nereo are taking the stage at College Street Music Hall, while experimental rock band Man Man and GRLwood will be tearing up Space Ballroom. Saturday night (9/28), iconic indie rock band Built To Spill is stopping at College Street Music Hall on their 20 year anniversary tour for their famous 1999 album, Keep It Like A Secret, and will be supported by Prism Bitch and Paul & The Tall Trees. Meanwhile, comedians Matt Braunger (MADtv) and David Hintz will be making the crowd laugh at Space Ballroom. Hailing all the way from Canada, abrasive post-hardcore band, Tunic, will be ripping up Cafe Nine with Connecticut’s one-and-only grunge band Crag Mask and experimental rock band T Wreck for this week’s Manic Monday (9/30)! If you’re bored next Tuesday night (10/1), make your way to Space Ballroom to see Boston emo synth rockers Bay Faction, indie rock artist Mons Vi, and New Haven alt-rock band Vern Matz. Welcome to this week’s installment of the Manic Presents Redscroll Blog! We’re here to update you with new show announcements and give you a look into our future events. Just announced at Space Ballroom – Philadelphia-based punk band Mannequin Pussy are to perform with Kississippi on Thursday (12/5), and NYC funk group Lucky Chops will be stopping through on their album release tour next year on Thursday (4/2). Additionally, we invite you to College Street Music Hall for a Christmas Party hosted by Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward’s musical duo, She & Him, on Saturday (12/7)!

 If you’re looking for something to do this week – we have a jam packed schedule of shows lined up for you. Tomorrow, Friday (9/20), Slaughter Beach, Dog (mem. Modern Baseball, Superheaven) and Cavepeople will be taking the stage at Space Ballroom while indie alternative band Rainbow Kitten Surprise bring enthusiasm and excitement to College Street Music Hall with opening act Illiterate Light. On Saturday (9/21), the folk quartet Darlingside will play with Henry Jamison at Space Ballroom. The following day, Sunday (9/22), Mat Kerekes of the band Citizen will be performing at Space Ballroom with Shortly, Teamonade, and Ryan Patrick White. For this week’s Manic Monday at Cafe Nine, we welcome Colorado-based live-electronic outfit Nobide to Connecticut with openers Polluter and The Forest Room. Last but not least, on Wednesday (9/25), comedian Hannibal Buress of The Eric Andre Show and Broad City has a last-minute pop-up show in New Haven at College Street Music Hall! So, if you don’t have plans this week, we have plenty of opportunities for you to make some.
