On this coming Friday, September 9th, International Anthem Recording Co. is releasing an archival collection of home recordings by the late great Charles Stepney. Check this Wax Poetics post with episode 1 of a 4 part Documentary entitled Out of the Shadows.
This Friday, September 9th, we’ll be holding a listening party at 5PM and amping up to it all day we’ll be playing whatever we have in the store associated with Charles Stepney – whether as song writer, player, arranger etc. And then at 5PM playing the record and handing out some promotional posters –anyone who comes by can sign up to win a promo copy of the LP as well!
So come on by Friday to pick up a copy and hang and listen and celebrate Charles Stepney!

It’s that time of year again! Time to get ready for the annual Holiday Sale that we run from Black Friday through Sunday. If you’ve come before you know what to expect. If you’re coming for special Black Friday releases please line up in the back where we’ll have the tent. If you’re just coming for the sale either door is fine for Black Friday. New Radiohead music comes out on LP/CD Friday! We’ll have it, yes. We will have the indie exclusive version of the vinyl for sure. We are also participating in an event coinciding with this release.
At 1PM we will be streaming a special Radiohead audio stream which will only be heard at participating stores (like us!). The broadcast will include music selected by the band as well as a very special 2-hour live set of performances from their latest tour featuring songs from the new album as well as old Radiohead favorites. Pixies Free Tickets Contest (Read on and learn how.)
This Saturday, October 29th, Pixies will be taking the stage at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, CT to perform their second album, “Doolittle”. Florida indie rockers, Surfer Blood will be opening up the show.
Manic Productions is co-promoting this show and was nice enough to give us a pair of tickets to give away! All you have to do is come down to the store & bring a Pixies album up to the counter.
