Curbside Pick-Up
We are starting curbside pick-up service at the store starting tomorrow (Tuesday, May 26th 2020).

Here’s how to do that:
1. Call or email an order to us (you can use our Discogs shop to find what you desire, but please only place a Discogs order if you want it delivered as there are fees associated with that we’d like to avoid). Beyond what is in our Discogs shop you are welcome to inquire about used records we may not have listed, accessories (poly-sleeves, cleaning kits, 45 adapters, etc.), magazines (we don’t carry many – mostly Wire), and whatever else we may have in the shop that you recall.
2. Drive to the store on the same day (if you are thinking of an order and would like to pick it up at some time in the future please make the order in the future when you can pick it up on the same day).
3. Call us from the back lot where we will have a table set up with a sign to park next to. When you call us we will take your credit card information over the phone as payment (credit card payments only, not cash). If you have a GIFT CERTIFICATE either on file with us or with you that is also a form of payment we can take now (we’ll sort that out over the phone as well).
4. Stay in your car. We will bring your order out and either place it on the table or hand it to you, wave and say thanks!
5. After you retrieve your order you are on your way! Happy listening ensues!

We have started taking trades / buying collections again. We are doing that by appointment in our parking lot. Call or email about that please. 

Anniversary Sale Cancelled
In other news, we have officially cancelled our Anniversary Sale that was re-scheduled for June 5th-11th. It’s just not safe to have a large gathering and won’t be for some time so the sale is cancelled for that reason. We will be doing some promotions during that time including the release of some special items we had stashed for the occasion. Keep an eye out on our social media for that (in particular our Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/redscroll/ – you don’t need to even have an account yourself to keep tabs on it – just refresh!).

Donation to Branford Compassion Club!

This week we sent a donation to the Branford Compassion Club! Thanks to all who’ve bought a shirt and tote so far. We will continue to send 15% of all sales from shirts and totes of this design to them. Available in our Big Cartel shop here.

15th of May 2020 Update (Store Remaining Closed / Online Shop Open)

It has been a couple weeks since our last update.

Though many places will be opening on May 20th, we will not be among them. With the COVID-19 Pandemic looming as a present danger and the very real possibility of a more dangerous second wave impending we will remain closed for the safety of us and you all! We are not an essential business. We are a small store with limited space where keeping one’s distance is very difficult. Staying closed is the best and most responsible choice for us.

As time progresses we will update you with any other services or limited openings that may come. For right now we are still operating as mail-order only.  Mail-Order is still the name of the game here. Links below to where you can support us online.

A fun update: we have collected a bunch of money for Branford Compassion Club through sales of our shirts and totes! We’ll be sending money to them at the end of the next week. If you’d like to get in on that charity please do! National Pet Month is two weeks in the rear view, but let’s keep that spirit alive while we all spend much more time than usual with our extended furry family!

2nd of May Update / Employee Picks

2nd of May Update for Redscroll Records

Hope you’re all staying well and safe. We’re continuing to operate as a mail-order only operation until further notice. We have some updates below in regards to planned events. We have some employee picks as well! Videos for those further below.  And all the ways to support us on the bottom.

The rescheduled date for Record Store Day has been further rescheduled and now split up into three dates (August 29, September 26, & October 24). Their announcement about that is here: https://recordstoreday.com/NewsItem/9003

How we’re going to handle these new dates is yet to be determined. It surely won’t be handled in the same way as previous year’s large events have been handled. Look out for updates on these drops closer to the August date (of course, possibly sooner).

In relation to that our rescheduled Anniversary Sale (rescheduled for June 5th-11th) is now by default canceled. We will not be able to handle large capacity crowds by that time so it is in everyone’s best interest to cancel the event completely. We do want to offer something in lieu of this cancellation to our loyal customers and we will figure something out in that regard, but we are still operating day to day so what that something we come up with is not something we’re ready to announce yet (or have completely figured out ourselves).  We are continuing to offer 10% off our entire online catalog for the foreseeable future.

Hey all. We’re going to keep doing a different type of update while our physical storefront is closed. This week, it being the first week of the month, we’ll feature our monthly employee picks! Some video clips for each to follow.

First, here’s a reminder of where you can shop with us online:

Discogs – This is our main mail order store that hovers in the mid 30,000 item range! Lots to choose from! For those unfamiliar with using Discogs here’s a quick usage tip: if you are on a computer (laptop or desktop) you can find lots of categories on the left-hand side of the screen and if you are on a phone or tablet go all the way to the bottom and click for the desktop view of the site (it’s really a much better way to view the site). Click on “MINT” to view new items for instance and sort by genre, style and whatever your heart desires! [During the time our storefront is closed we will be offering a 10% Discount on everything to make up for shipping and Discogs fees.]

Big Cartel – This is where you can find our record label releases as well as shirts and patches.

We also have Gift Certificates for use when we re-open the physical storefront.  Scroll to the bottom for that.

As the times are different right now so too will this update be different. We’ll simply go over how you can still find new music from us including some recommendations and how to generally keep supporting the shop & our record label.

The physical store remains closed until further notice. Our online store is still open. We are currently working with a small crew of three and maintaining our web presence from home and at the store using directed precautions to keep the curve flattened.

  • Visit us on Discogs! (our online store)
    https://www.discogs.com/seller/Redscroll/profile     This is also the best way to keep up with the newest stuff we’ve gotten in. It default sets to the most recent listings. There are also a lot of other filters you can use. If you just want to see the new items just look for “Mint” listings for instance. [During the time our storefront is closed we will be offering a 10% Discount on everything to make up for shipping and Discogs fees.]
  • Buy a Gift Certificate for use when we reopen! We will be reachable by phone or use the link below. Gift Certificates will be made out and kept on file (not mailed) for you to use when we reopen. [PayPal Button below]
  • Another great way to support us (and the great local bands we work with!) is to buy the releases on our in-house record label! There are two ways to buy those: 1.  through our Big Cartel shop here (which also has T-Shirts and patches available!) and 2. through our Discogs store here using “Redscroll Records” in the search bar!
