Many Moons was written in the wake of 2014’s Real Estate album, Atlas, and was Courtney’s chance to explore a more concise, straightforward style of writing, something that felt innately his. The resulting album is a collection of soft psychedelia that recalls the Kinks and Big Star even as it probes the depths of his own life as a family man, father, and touring musician.
Ryley Walker: Ryley Walker is a singer/songwriter from Chicago, IL and currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. He’s released 10+ full length records under his own name, and with various ensembles ranging from folk rock, to drone, to free improv.

Friday(10/11)
Earthless w/Maggot Heart, Sacri Monti
$20/All Ages/Doors at 7:00PM
Space Ballroom – Hamden
INFO: Earthless has a surprise for you. Whereas the band’s three previous albums featured anywhere from two to four completely instrumental space rock jams, the California trio’s fourth and latest, Black Heaven, is nothing like that. “It’s quite different,” drummer Mario Rubalcaba says with a laugh. “It has six songs, and most importantly it has vocals on about 70 percent of the record. There goes being pigeonholed as an instrumental band, I guess…”

Space Ballroom – Hamden
INFO: 2019 BMA Award Nominee The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band are the greatest country-blues band in the world. They are led by Reverend Peyton, who most consider to be the premier finger picker playing today. He has earned a reputation as both a singularly compelling performer and a persuasive evangelist for the rootsy, country blues styles that captured his imagination early in life and inspired him and his band to make pilgrimages to Clarksdale, Mississippi to study under such blues masters as T-Model Ford, Robert Belfour and David “Honeyboy” Edwards. Now The Big Damn Band is back with an explosive new record and world tour. Reverend Peyton’s guitar work on the new record Poor Until Payday is phenomenal and howls the blues. It debuted at #1 on the iTunes Blues Chart and #4 on the Billboard Blues Chart.

Saturday (9/21)
Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin: Performing the live score to Deep Red (Profondo Rosso)
$35-$40/All Ages/Doors at 7PM
College Street Music Hall – New Haven
INFO: Goblin’s life has been full of separations, reunions and various line- ups that have characterized the tortuous history of this group over the past almost 40 years. The band was originally formed by myself and Massimo Morante, born from the ashes of Cherry Five (Oliver), thanks to my father Enrico who brought us to the Cinevox Record label in 1974. Many other bands were formed in the following years inspired by the original Goblin: Daemonia, BacktotheGoblin, Goblin Rebirth and New Goblin, all with original members of the band in one combination or another. Now, I formed my own version of the band named Claudio Simonetti ‘s Goblin. We don’t want to ignore any band that is currently active with a similar name, we simply want to continue spreading the great legacy of Goblin’s music in our own way, music that has inspired so many bands and so many generations of musicians over the years.
