Danny Says: a documentary on Danny Fields

You might recognize the name Brendan Toller from his thesis project gone big called I Need That Record. That’s the one we, Redscroll Records, appeared in in our infancy.

Brendan has a new project he’s been working on for a little while now and is at that crucial point where to become as big as it deserves to be it needs some funding. Danny Says is a documentary on the life Danny Fields. Information on future screenings that we’ll surely be promoting will come as soon as that is available (after the film is done of course).

Here’s some links to check out and a write up Brendan sent us:

Danny Says Kickstarter

Filmmaker Brendan Toller (I Need That Record!) has embarked on a 30-day Kickstarter fundraising campaign for his latest film Danny Says. The film chronicles the life and times of Danny Fields, a pivotal figure in music and culture of the late 20th century who worked in various roles with the Velvet Underground, Doors, Ramones, Stooges, MC5, Nico, Modern Lovers, Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright and many more. The film features interviews with Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Judy Collins, Tommy Ramone, Jonathan Richman, Rufus Wainwright, John Cameron Mitchell and many more. The Danny Says Kickstarter teaser trailer includes a bite of Iggy Pop explaining how the Stooges couldn’t play “Johnny B Goode” and Jonathan Richman recalling an argument with Fields about “wanting to be a rockstar” (amongst many other nuggets).
