New Year’s Eve with Phemale LP/Tape Release (& our Hours) First things first: We’ll be open 12-6PM on Tuesday (New Year’s Eve) and 12-8PM (regular hours) on Wednesday, New Year’s Day.
Now, that you know what we’re doing on the business end, let me tell you what we have going on for New Year’s Eve. If you like to get weird and you like that Phemale “City Silk” LP we put out earlier this year (or if you haven’t heard it yet do yourself a favor and check it out here). Elm Recordings also released a tape by Phemale concurrently (with a similar aesthetic, but a more ambient tone) and that information is also in that linked post. One thing we never got around to doing that we wanted to and are making sure to do before year’s end (barely, but yep) is have a release party. Well, some fine folks decided to put together a show and we decided it was the release show! (Pretty much exactly like that.) Other fine CT weird / noise / drone experimenters are on the bill. I’ll just link you to the Facebook event and you can dig on from there.

First things first. Happy Independence Day! Enjoy the day and if you’d like to celebrate at any point by buying some music make sure it’s between 12 and 3PM when we’ll be open.

Monday, Memorial Day, May 27th, 2013, we will be closed.
Every year we close on Memorial Day. It’s the onenon-traditional holiday to be closed on that we are closed for each year. It’s a great day to take advantage of the Connecticut state parks. It’s a great day to do whatever you can outside, generally. If you have a portable record player then by all means do bring it with you. Jam on that Spring time air (hopefully your allergies will be well suppressed by then if you have them). Take a long drive with the windows down and the stereo blasting (without being obnoxious). Have as much fun as you can handle and then come in for tunes the next day to wind down with.
Hey all, we’ll be closed for Easter Sunday – March 31st, 2013. Please take that day to listen to uplifting or blasphemous records as you see appropriate. I’ll be out with my buds on some wheel-cart apparatus taking olde time-y photographs with loads of sepia tone.
