The Hunt The Hunt Begins

THEHUNT
(Sacred Bones)
During their brief existence in the latter half of the 2000s, this post-punk band crafted this dark and dynamic LP to follow-up a seven-inch single. Unfortunately, after the “tumultuous” attempts to record it after settling back in Boston, they disbanded before it saw the light of day. Four years later (after members started new projects including Cult of Youth,) The Hunt’s “lost” (and only) full-length album finally got a release as Sacred Bones’ hundredth release. It’s a compelling, gothic-sounding ride that channels the dramatized, gloomy energy of bands such as Joy Division and The Misfits, with highlights including the tireless build-up of “Fifteen Minutes” and the epic shout-along “Set the Rising Sun.”
