We are happy and proud to announce that our friends in Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean have entrusted us to release more of their music for them. Over the years their musical output has become more and more sought after especially off the back of successful recent tour stints with Sumac and Dragged into Sunlight as well as a spot on the Maryland Death Fest 2025 lineup.
Available in our brick & mortar store in person or online at https://chainedtothebottomoftheocean.bandcamp.com/ .
Today – Friday, August 1st, we are releasing a slew of represses and some for the first time on their given format (2 EPs on a single LP for the first time and CDs previously not available except on tape and/or vinyl).
Included in this campaign of releases are:
• [RSR058]Sisyphean Cruelty CDs x100 (Repress of previously sold out run) The initial run of CDs sold out quickly and we’re happy to press more.
• [RSR038]Obsession | Destruction CDs x100 (First Time On CD) When we first released this we heard from some fans that we should have released it on CD as well. It took us some time, but here it finally is!
• [RSR038]Obsession | Destruction LPs x300 (Coke Bottle Clear with Multi-Color Splatter; repress of previously sold out run) The original run is now long out of print and we’re happy to offer a new color variant for this absolute crusher of a record with art by the since deceased and absolute wizard of paint Mariusz Lewandowski.
• [RSR025]The Vestige CDs x100 (First Time On CD) Chained’s early output was pressed in very short quantity and became quickly sought after. We approached them about releasing it as a collection and the Vestige was brought into existence. It collected their first LP and 2 EPs (Decay And Other Hopes Against Progress & I Carry My Awareness Of Defeat Like A Banner Of Victory & Tell Me What You See Vanishing And I Will Tell You Who You Are) onto Double-LP and cassette tape editions that have long since sold out. We now offer it up on one convenient CD.
• [RSR063]Consumed by the Vitriol of Life / I Tried Catching You But You Fell Through Me LPs x300 (2 previously released separate single sided 12” EPs – both now sold out; Releasing as a single LP with each on either side; Cover Matching Splatter Vinyl)
All CDs are professionally duplicated (not CDrs) by Duplication.com and the LPs have been pressed with the utmost precision, craft (we generally let them run wild with colors) and care by Burlington Record Pressing.
This month we talk to Videodome (Rebecca, Tobey, Keenan, & Killian)! We talk about what we’re listening to. We talk about the formation of the band and the direction that band has taken and where it may go. Some reminiscing on less recent CT bands occurs. Conversation veers off here and there. It’s a good time. Check it out!

We open at 8AM on Friday November 29th, 2024 – BLACK FRIDAY!
Our sale is all weekend! We open at 10AM on Saturday & Sunday.
We will have RSD Black Friday items; the ones we’ll have are listed below. The store is also open for general shopping and everything is on sale all weekend!
The social media we use most is Instagram. Please do follow us there for regular stock updates and occasional announcements.
69 South Turnpike Road, Wallingford, CT 06492
RSD BF items will be inside the store in the immediate entry area. There will be a line for those that we’ll be managing. If you do not want any of those titles you will not have to wait in line, of course.
Parking can be found in the normal area that is painted in our lot. Extra parking is also available in the lot next to the gas station nearest us and at Cody’s Barbershop across and over from us. Do be careful crossing the street! Please be mindful of our neighbors and do your best not to congest the lot or park in non-parking spaces (use the lots mentioned and seen in this photo below).

Please be safe and mindful of those around you. Dress weather appropriate. We’ll do our best to get you out of the cold as safely and efficiently as we can.
Below is a list of what we will have available.
Record Store Day titles are limited to 1 per title per person (buy as many titles as you’d like, just 1 each).*
UPDATE: To see any we have left now please visit our Discogs page!
RSD BF Quantity Disclaimer:
We hope we can please and fulfill the requests of a good deal of you all. As much as we’d like to have every possible thing on hand in quantities exactly matching the demand it just can’t work that way. We order a tremendous amount as do many other stores. We are allocated certain amounts of things and ultimately we get a lot because we put in the leg work. That said, we get less than we order and in some cases we miss out on items completely (trust us, it’s not purposeful by any stretch). We want everyone to be happy in the end so be excellent to each other. And if you have a request for something please let us know and we can check on its availability on Monday.
*once there is no line we will relax the 1 per person per title rule.
We are joined by a man, Byron Coley, who has more stories than we could fit into every past episode of our podcast and we surely packed as much as we could into a single sit down. We start off with some talk about what we’re listening to as usual and we move on to record fair talk (don’t forget about our Record Fair at Counter Weight Brewing Co. on October 13th featuring Byron selling upstairs!).

Byron tells tales of driving John Fahey around looking for classical records, his process for listening to 10 new records everyday, writing for weekly publications and magazines like the Wire, Forced Exposure, Spin and on and on. We talk about the label and store he runs with his friend Ted in Florence, Western Massachusetts.
We go back to his start writing a tour diary with Devo, but this is yet a scratch on the surface and this podcast is our longest yet for good reason! Check it out!
