New Release from Dissolve! “Burnt” LP & Cassette

We’ve been working on this one for a while and it does not disappoint! A new record from CT’s spiritual cousins from Poughkeepsie, NY, Dissolve! We initially planned on doing a one sided cassette for a single long track. The band brought us 2 crushing and engaging works of force and finesse that are a never tiring 16+ and 20+ minutes each. We were so moved we decided there was no course, but to also offer it up on vinyl.

In addition to producing their usual brand of pissed-off Metal/Hardcore, the members of Dissolve have always dabbled in playing strange improvisational music. A few years back, the band started recording their rehearsals in an attempt to bring something tangible back from these sonic excursions into the far-out, deep space that they would travel to together. Burnt is the recorded artifact of these explorations and features two of Dissolve’s heaviest, and longest, songs ever.

“Shot Rocks” and “Eternal Sunshine” crush the listener with the brutal, down-tuned riffs and raving, street prophet vocals that people would expect from Dissolve, but then they also take a lot of unexpected twists and turns into blotter acid territory. The songs go deep into shadow realms of ambient whispers and electronic whirs that lead to gonzo guitar solos and bursts of noise. There’s a lot of wild sounds going on during these songs. Put on the good headphones, turn on, tune in, and drop out.

New Jazz LP from Trance Macabre!

Redscroll Records presents its very first jazz release!

Trance Macabre Cover

Via Nicholas Serrambana: Trance Macabre is grateful for the opportunity to release their first vinyl statement with Redscroll Records. One track is available now on Bandcamp along with digital and vinyl pre-order. Composer and bandleader Nicholas Serrambana plays fretless bass while joined by the ever urgent Wes Lewis on saxophone, the insightful Vigilance Brandon on brass, the uncanny Michael Larocca on drums, flute sorceress Autumn Asbridge, and Connecticut jazz pedagogue extraordinaire Noah Baerman on synth.

Vinyl comes out this Friday July 5.

This sextet reinvigorates the disenfranchised jazz fan through a punk theatricality and invites non-jazz listeners to enter the music without the dogma of genre. Though Trance Macabre presents compositions here, the presence of free improvisation is integral. Each of the four pieces here stretches out to prog rock lengths, but with both ample melodies and unscripted plateaus throughout. Those who are drawn in by the dissonant onset of the first song may find themselves surprised to discover the lyrical ballad that concludes side B. This record is for people who dare to recognize the singable in Cecil Taylor.

Wes Lewis (saxophones)
Michael Larocca (drums)
Autumn Asbridge (flute)
Vigilance Brandon (brass)
Noah Baerman (keys)
Nicholas Serrambana (bass)

Intercourse “Bag Fumblers Incorporated 2021-2024” CD release!

Buy the CD online from us here!

Intercourse formed in 2013 and has been annoying ever
since. With the goal of ditching the pretension of noise rock and
fusing it with the immediacy of hardcore they’ve managed a
release a year since 2014. This CD collects all the material from the
most consistent and current line up of the band starting with
2021’s Rule 36 (Reptilian Records / Constant Disappointment) &
the Canyons split (The Ghost Is Clear Records) 2023’s Halo
Castration Institute (Learning Curve Records / Redscroll) helped
the band reach a new level of notoriety with positive reviews
across the board. Egyptian Democracy (Redscroll Records) recently
released in the winter of 2024 followed by well received tours and a coveted spot on the Red Chord reunion gigs.

Intercourse have also recently toured with contemporaries, Chat
Pile, and have opened for Deadguy, Great Falls, and Pissed Jeans.
