Record Store Day Update / 15th of April Update

(in addition to the regular update)
15th of April 2011 Update of New and Key Restocked Items
at Redscroll Records

Record Store Day is now in its 4th year of existence. Conceived in 2007 (when we opened doors!) and then put into action in 2008 for the first time.  It has grown exponentially.  More and more limited releases come out each year. The demand has also increased.  The number of stores taking part has also increased exponentially. The numbers for each release have not increased.  We ordered much more than we received.  We are working to make this as great as possible.  We understand the frustration that comes along with all this.  We can’t fulfill everyone’s desires, but we’re striving to come close.  We hope you appreciate it.

A few select items will not be available here in time for tomorrow.  The DODOS release was not pressed in time.  The Discordance Axis LP will be in our shop on Monday. The Glassjaw has also reportedly been pushed back for release later. The PHISH Soundcheck release will be in our shop sometime next week (NOT TOMORROW unfortunately).

The goodie-bags we have came out great and well stocked.  There are a few variety of bags.  First come, first serve.

4 thoughts on “Record Store Day Update / 15th of April Update”

  1. We did our best to get all we could. We got less than half of what we ordered. We appreciate everyone that walks through our doors and have made huge efforts to have as much as we possibly can. Unfortunately, there is going to be some disappointment. I hope the reward far outweighs that.

  2. My wife and I made the short trip from Wethersfield for our very first Record Store Day. We found you as a participating store on the RSD website. She called you guys last week and you were very helpful on the phone. We got there at about 7:45am and were third in line. We got everything on our want lists and then some. Thanks for making things so orderly and limiting quantities, so as many people as possible could get what they wanted. We met some nice people in line, and everybody was very respectful – no pushing and shoving. You’ve made two new customers – we’re coming back on Monday. And the Goodie Bags were awesome!! Long live Record Store Day, and long live vinyl. Thanks!
