AFI All Hallow’s E.P. [Reissue]
AFI_-_All_Hallow's_EP_cover
(Nitro)
Over fifteen years after this self-produced E.P. came out on CD and seven-inch (the latter of which was limited to 1000 copies on “pumpkin orange” vinyl,) AFI fans have finally gotten their wish for a reissue. Now pressed on a bright orange ten-inch, it’s the purest way to experience my favorite phase from the quartet: the perfect balance of high-speed horror punk and impressively eloquent poetry. Along with AFI’s trademark “whoa-oh” filled shadowy tales, their cover of Danzig-era Misits’ “Halloween” fits the atmosphere excellently.

Nat Baldwin Dome Branches: The MVP Demos
Nat Baldwin Dome Branches The MVP Demos
(Western Vinyl)
Best known for his ten-year-run as the bassist for Dirty Projectors, Baldwin doubles as that and a singer-songwriter for his solo discography. His angular, double bass-driven indie rock tunes are both fresh and accessible, showcasing his background studying avant-garde jazz and improvisation. This album consists of the demos released several years before his 2008 album Most Valuable Player, showcasing his ability on tracks not yet performed live, with one supporting musician being fellow Dirty Projector David Longstreth improvising guitar parts.
