The Horrors
Luminous

The Horrors Luminous
“Luminous” is a fitting title for this British indie band’s fourth album, with a psychedelic blend of post-punk and krautrock for a smoothly pulsating sound that I’m sure gets crowds moving. Lush synth permeates throughout; with one of my favorite tracks being the glowing meadow of “So Now You Know,” giving good advice on overcoming lost love.

It’s Album Time

Todd Terje Its Album Time
Ten years after releasing his first single, Norwegian DJ and producer Todd Terje has finally put out his first full-length: It’s Album Time is nearly a full hour of rich electronic disco and house that manages to be incredibly compelling. He utilizes twenty different instruments for his vibrant and varied vision, from the colorful Latin-flavored “Svensk Sås” (which translates as “Swedish Sauce”) to the 80s-cruising “Delorean Dynamite.” The album is entirely instrumental except for the breezy, low-key synth-and-piano ballad “Johnny and Mary,” with English singer Bryan Ferry providing his fittingly intimate vocals.
