(Cloud Recordings)
Here’s a very trippy indie-folk double-album from the latest project led by Will Cullen Hart, who started this ensemble with some former members from his Elephant 6 label band The Olivia Tremor Control. Constructed from home recordings made over the last twelve years, the ever-morphing array of instrumentation is dizzying: guitars, woodwinds, synth, bass, cello, organ, drums and more make for one very unconventional psych-pop atmosphere. Some guest musicians include Jeff Mangum and Jeremy Barnes of Neutral Milk Hotel (both Hart and Mangum were some of Elephant 6’s cofounders.)
