Here’s a Connecticut band who play a loud, energetic mix of rock & roll and punk focused on two subjects: Halloween (the only time that they perform live) and Italian food. Both are apparent just by reading the song titles on this full-length cassette, with topics that range from fantasizing about a hot witch to handing out meatball subs on Halloween instead of candy. It makes for a really fun listening experience overall, complete with the spooky keyboard fleshing out the mood.

Abram Shook Landscape Dream

Born in California and currently living in Texas, Abram Shook is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose fresh-sounding music incorporates indie rock, psychedelia, pop, soul and more. He takes inspiration from daily walks with his dog in an underutilized South Austin park, where he unplugs from technology and reflects on nature. The result shows on this sophomore album, with tracks such as the shimmering soul jam “Vessel” and 70s-style-rocker “Find It”.
