Dog & Cat Supply Drive

EDIT WITH UPDATE:
Thanks to all who came by and donated or bought records on this day. We were able to give boxes and boxes of supplies for the rescue pets and write them a nice check. 😎👍🐶🐱

Now through September 25th we are collecting donations for @armyslegacyanimalrescue!

Items they are in need of:
-Martingale collars
-Leashes
-Toys
-Treats
-Dog Beds
-Sheets / Blankets / Towels

Items can be dropped off any time we’re open.

The drive runs until Sunday, September 25th. That day volunteers from Army’s Legacy will be set up here at the shop selling merch and cookies. As well as picking up all the supplies you’ve helped us gather.

10% of the money made on September 25th on all in store purchases here at Redscroll will go directly to the rescue.

Charles Stepney Listening Party

On this coming Friday, September 9th, International Anthem Recording Co. is releasing an archival collection of home recordings by the late great Charles Stepney. Check this Wax Poetics post with episode 1 of a 4 part Documentary entitled Out of the Shadows.

This Friday, September 9th, we’ll be holding a listening party at 5PM and amping up to it all day we’ll be playing whatever we have in the store associated with C harles Stepney – whether as song writer, player, arranger etc. And then at 5PM playing the record and handing out some promotional posters – anyone who comes by can sign up to win a promo copy of the LP as well!

So come on by Friday to pick up a copy and hang and listen and celebrate Charles Stepney!

RSR PC 058 Austin Larkin & Zach Rowden

This month brings a return guest in Zach Rowden and a new guest in Austin Larkin. Together they perform as Red Yellow Blue Green Black. Definitely go back and listen to the Zach and Henry (Tongue Depressor) podcast if you haven’t yet! For this episode we focused more on Austin as we had yet to dive into his musical background. We of course also talk about lots of things we’re listening too.

Austin created sirens for the recent tour with Tongue Depressor – some deep insight on those. General talk of musical education background and Austin’s brief stint in a band signed to Sub Pop and how that led to a few years at school for music and then on to Jakarta to further study gamelan. Lots of insight and interesting musical and other art related divergences follow. Give a listen!
