Public Memory
Wuthering Drum
Public Memory Wuthering Drum(Felte)
A solo electronic project from Brooklyn-based Robert Toher (also of Eraas and Apse), Public Memory’s subdued, mournful sound incorporates elements of darkwave and krautrock. Through the use of intricately structured electronic percussion, cold-sounding synth and his own ghostly falsetto voice, Toher creates eerily supernatural landscapes that manage to be surprisingly organic-sounding. “Lunar”, for example, sounds especially chilling laden with chimes that sound manipulated by the hands of spirits.
