Michael Chapman Window [Reissue]
(Light in the Attic)
Born in Leeds, England, singer-songwriter-guitarist Chapman began his folk music career in the late 60s, appearing in London and Cornwall’s music circuits and soon releasing a string of albums. This record came out on Harvest in 1970, in the midst of his sound’s transformation from soft acoustic to harder electric guitar-based. Its diverse mix of electric and acoustic instrumentation continues to draw interest: despite Chapman’s disapproval of Harvest releasing the album before he could re-record acoustic passages he intended, he approved this reissue to capture the original sound with two CD-only bonus tracks.
