Book of Air Vvolk

Here’s an improvisational work from Belgium, performed by eighteen musicians with backgrounds in jazz and classical music (it’s the second in the Book of Air series, with the first being Fieldtone.) Inspired by the relationship between sound and the perception of time (particularly the gradual transitions between seasons), the instruments such as bass, guitar, saxophone, flute, harmonium and more all subtly blend on this record’s pair of twenty-four minute compositions. It really does feel like a magnification of one’s past memories, making the passage of time resemble a peaceful blur to zone out to.
