RECORD STORE DAY UPDATE
(in addition to the regular update)
15th of April 2011 Update of New and Key Restocked Items
at Redscroll Records

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT RECORD STORE DAY RELEASES:

Record Store Day is now in its 4th year of existence. Conceived in 2007 (when we opened doors!) and then put into action in 2008 for the first time.  It has grown exponentially.  More and more limited releases come out each year. The demand has also increased.  The number of stores taking part has also increased exponentially. The numbers for each release have not increased.  We ordered much more than we received.  We are working to make this as great as possible.  We understand the frustration that comes along with all this.  We can’t fulfill everyone’s desires, but we’re striving to come close.  We hope you appreciate it.

A few select items will not be available here in time for tomorrow.  The DODOS release was not pressed in time.  The Discordance Axis LP will be in our shop on Monday. The Glassjaw has also reportedly been pushed back for release later. The PHISH Soundcheck release will be in our shop sometime next week (NOT TOMORROW unfortunately).

The goodie-bags we have came out great and well stocked.  There are a few variety of bags.  First come, first serve.

AND DON’T FORGET – 20% OFF EVERYTHING UNTIL SUNDAY NIGHT!

And last, but not the least of it, our friend DJ Lokash has put together a mix inspired by an exclusive Record Store Day track done for us by Benn Grim.  You can hear the track now.  Get the full mix by coming in (plenty of as yet unreleased tracks and general hotness) on Record Store Day (Saturday).

Reminder: Sale Starts Tuesday, Ends Sunday
April 12, 2011 – April 17, 2011
20% Off Everything!
We’ve been working pretty hard to get our store as well stocked as possible.  The shelves are quite literally running out of space so there is definitely a good amount to choose from.

We kick off the sale Tuesday.  Why Tuesday?  Well, because that is our exact anniversary date.  We opened our doors on April 12, 2007 (4 years ago).  We’re going to go bowling at closing too (8PM).  Please join us.  We’re going to Wallingford Bowl (they close at 11PM and we’ll definitely be there until then).  They’ve also got some arcade games, a snack bar (soft pretzels, soda, nachos, …) and a regular old bar (adult beverages).
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the sale continues during our normal store hours (12PM-8PM).
Saturday is Record Store Day.  We’ll be open from 10AM-10PM on this day.  There are a ton of R.S.D. exclusive items we’ll be getting in.  A list of those will be posted by Friday.  Please check back if you’re wondering what we’re getting in.  Our goodie-bags for this day are coming together rather nicely.  There are a lot of different goodies and not every bag is going to be the same.  It will be completely luck of the draw about what you get.  They will be given to every customer until we run out of them.  Check out what you and your friends get and mix, match, trade and have fun with ’em!  As with previous years we’ll be having some end of the night festivities (HINT).
And then Sunday we conclude the sale during regular hours (12PM-6PM).  History has shown that plenty of great records will be here this day.  If you cannot make it until Sunday then it will be well worth it to come.  As with every week, deliveries will be coming throughout so our stock will continually be replenished and changing.  We’re excited!  I hope it’s contagious.

4th Anniversary Sale & Record Store Day Celebration!

4TH Anniversary Sale and Record Store Day Celebration!
Below are all the details so far.  We’re working on more great things and we’ll let you know all of that as it unfolds.  There is also a note at the end about all the RSD exclusives.

NOTE ABOUT RECORD STORE DAY RELEASES:
We’re working on getting as many of any and everything that we can get ahold of. We will be publishing everything that we get at least one day in advance (as soon as we have it in our hands). Please check this blog that week for details and a full list. Please do not inquire about holds – we are not allowed to do this (in fact, we have signed a contract that says this – no lie!). We cannot sell even a day ahead of time so please be patient and check the blog and come in excited, bright and early (10AM) on Record Store Day!

Beatles "Paperback Writer / Rain" 7" Vinyl Single

Tomorrow, June 8th, is the U.S. release date for The Beatles “Paperback Writer / Rain” 7″ Vinyl Single.

It was originally a UK Record Store Day item. There are a very limited number of these (1000, I believe). At best, any store that wanted these got only 2. We got 2! The least amount of fun this could lead to is that whomever could make it here first could buy them. That doesn’t sound all that fun at all. It would be fun for those 2 people, sure, but less fun for so many more people. More fun? What could we do to make that happen? A raffle? Yes!

A raffle for these is going to take place! That way we can charge you and make a mint off these little round things, right? NO WAY, DUDE! This raffle is going to be FREE! No catch. You don’t have to purchase anything at all. You don’t have to buy a raffle ticket. You just have to enter and cross your fingers. (Actually, the one catch is that you actually do have to come into the store to fill out the form. I almost forgot to mention that – no online entries, sorry)

The raffle entry will go on for 2 weeks. At 7PM on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010, we will pick a winner at random. You don’t have to be present for the picking – entries will have contact information on them so we can reach you. However, coming in at that time might make it more exciting for all.
